Reforma y ampliación de una casa en Barcelona
Disfrutar del espacio exterior. Cocinar, comer y compartir la tarde con los amigos bajo las hojas de un denso ficus en una habitación al aire libre. Convertir el jardín existente en una estancia más de la casa para generar un oasis dentro del barrio donde trasladar gran parte de la actividad diaria, mientras gozamos del agradable clima mediterráneo.

El proyecto consiste en la reforma y ampliación de una vivienda de dos plantas con un pequeño jardín ubicada en los bajos de una finca entre medianeras.
La casa existente disponía de cocina y comedor en planta baja, en contacto con el jardín, y habitaciones en la planta primera, pero no tenía salón. La premisa de partida por parte de los clientes consistía en reformar la casa y ampliarla dotándola de este nuevo espacio en contacto con el exterior.

La propuesta empieza reformulando la pregunta y, en lugar de ampliar la casa con esta pieza, trasladamos la cocina al exterior para poder liberar espacio en el interior para el salón y el comedor. De esta manera conseguimos que todas estas piezas estén en contacto con el espacio exterior y que desde todas ellas logramos unas visuales largas entre ellas y hacia el jardín.

El nuevo volumen se realiza con una estructura de madera y vidrio, como un invernadero, en una ubicación donde, por las sombras del propio edificio y las de los vecinos, nunca hay una gran insolación. Por otra parte, al ser una pieza tan transparente, conseguimos que el resto de la planta baja continúe disfrutando de luz natural.

La nueva fachada de la ampliación se separa de la vertical de la finca mostrando los dos arcos que originalmente encerraban el espacio interior y que ahora actúan como tránsito entre el salón–comedor y la nueva galería con la cocina y el estudio. Al separar la fachada de la vertical de la finca, la nueva envolvente se libera de las directrices del edificio existente, realizando unas pequeñas inflexiones que permiten más espacio en las zonas de mayor actividad, tanto en el interior como en el propio patio.
En la planta primera de la vivienda se realizan pequeños cambios en el mobiliario de las habitaciones y se reformula la sala / estudio, con la voluntad de no intervenir en aquellas zonas donde no es estrictamente necesario.

Refurbishment and extension of a house in Barcelona
Enjoying being outdoors. Cooking, eating, and sharing the afternoon with friends under the leaves of a dense ficus tree in an open-air room. Turning the existing garden into an other room of the house creates an oasis within the neighborhood where much of the daily activity happens while enjoying the pleasant Mediterranean climate.

The project consists of the renovation and expansion of a two-story house with a small garden located on the ground floor of a small block between party walls.
The existing house had a kitchen and dining room on the ground floor, in contact with the garden, and bedrooms on the first floor, but it did not have a living room. The assignment consists of renovating and expanding the house by providing it with this new space in contact with the existing patio.

The strategy consists of changing the question and, instead of expanding the house with this piece, we moved the kitchen outside to free up space inside for the living room and the dining room. In this way, we ensure that all these pieces are in contact with the patio and that from all of them, we achieve long views between them and towards the exterior.
The new volume is made with a structure of wood and glass, like a greenhouse, in a location where there is never a big insolation due to the shadows of the building itself and the neighboring ones. On the other hand, the addition being such a transparent piece, we ensure that the rest of the ground floor continues to enjoy natural light.

The new façade of the extension is detached from the vertical line of the property, freeing the two arches that originally enclosed the interior space and that now act as a transit between the living-dining room and the new gallery with the kitchen and study. By separating the façade, the new envelope is freed from the guidelines of the existing building, making small inflections that allow more space in the areas of more activity, both inside and in the patio.
On the first floor, small changes are made to the furniture in the rooms, and the living room/study is reformulated, with the aim of not intervening in those areas where it is not strictly necessary.

Ristrutturazione e ampliamento di una casa a Barcellona
Il progetto riguarda la ristrutturazione e l’ampliamento di una casa a due piani con un piccolo giardino, situata in un isolato compatto tra edifici adiacenti. L’intervento trasforma lo spazio esterno in un’estensione dell’abitazione, un’oasi dove cucinare, mangiare e trascorrere il tempo all’aperto sotto un grande albero di fico. Invece di aggiungere un nuovo volume, la cucina è stata spostata all’esterno, liberando spazio interno per soggiorno e sala da pranzo, entrambi in diretto contatto con il patio. La nuova struttura in legno e vetro, simile a una serra, garantisce luminosità naturale e leggerezza visiva. La facciata arretrata libera le arcate originali, ora utilizzate come passaggi verso la galleria che ospita cucina e studio. Al piano superiore si interviene solo con modifiche minime all’arredo e alla disposizione degli ambienti, preservando l’impianto originario della casa.
